    What do you believe is YOUR purpose in Life?

    If you cling to the belief that each and every one of us has a Master Purpose in life, WHAT do you feel is your purpose?  Do you believe you have or will fullfill your purpose in your lifetime?

    I don't know about a Master purpose but I do believe we have a collective purpose, to make the world a better place as we go along.  My purpose is to look after my nearest and dearest and make this world as best as possible for them, then to try to do the same for as many others as possible. It sounds easy, doesn't it?  Obviously it's not but we need the goals and the ideals to aim for.  If I'm lucky I'll get some enjoyment out of doing that too!

    A very thought provoking question indeed. But the evolutionists think that they were a product of automatic natural process so, they can be spared to answer. Now remains other religions. Being Muslim, I can only explain the purpose of life explained in Islam. Islam tells that God created us in His image and considered us His best creation. But he wanted to check which ones of us are true devotees. This created the need to have a Satan with powers to misguide those who prove to be less loyal to their creator. Thus the purpose was to worship and follow God's instructions (working manual for humans). But off-course the creator also planned other purposes in our lives. Those can be to serve humanity in one way or another including family, friends and masses in some way. We Muslims consider themselves to be in a test room in this world and what we do here, will decide where we end up after death (hell or heaven).  Thus making fear and incentive as the driving force, in what ever we do in this world with conscience and spirituality to guide you.

      @Diane
      1st is that these are not our principles these are according our belief are of God. 2ndly our duty is to convey the message and not to deal with "violation". After that “To you be your way, and to me mine” (Qur'an 109:06).

    Oddly enough I believe my Master Purpose is to be a support system for others. I've never been a leader but a support system as long as I can remember -- sometimes for the right causes and sometime (due to ignorance) what turned out to be mistaken/wrong causes. As I near 75-years-old and have been a back-up all my life; I'm going to assume I've fulfilled my purpose as I understand it -- of course, that raises another question as to whether or not we really know what we're here for as we muddle through the human condition. Excellent question!

      I have always been a better assistant than leader, although I have done both.  I prefer to assist, be a cat Friday, second banana.  It's called facilitating, and that's what I'm doing.

    I dont believe I have a master purpose, it seems to suggest their is a predestined fate for me. I think the purpose is just to be. Be in the world, interact with it and hopefully find some joy. Survival and happiness i guess i would tihnk ar my purpose, anything beyond that is just something that happens, luck/chance/coincidence. Just hoping for a happy life really, not much more i need.

    For me the my purpose in life is to take care of my parents because they need me in
    their life. Without me they are helpless , and I always want to be there whenever they will need me. For me this is the main purpose of my life. After that purpose of my life is to be with my girlfriend, because she says that she is incomplete without me. This is the purpose of my life to complete her life.

      Whatever your purpose in life is....I suggest your purpose for today is to rid yourself of your profile I.D.      First of all, it's immature and offensive.  Secondly, If HP catches it, they will INSIST you change it.

      Even though some of it "should have" been obvious, it took a long time to get this much clarity on my life purpose. I'm 52 now and I do feel I'm living my purpose. I have a ways to go till I will feel I've fulfilled it, but I believe it's doable.

      Actually, mom and I talked about this before.  She's not a big believer in finding out the meaning of life.  She's too busy living it.  And while she's doing that she works hard to make it a better place.  She tries to do well all the time.

    My life's purpose is unknown to me. Every day I ask God to show me what it is, but I think I already know. I just do not accept it.

    I want my life to have a meaning. I want to help others. I know that is what I am suppose to do. I am suppose to help people with my different point of view.

    I think my life's purpose is just to live.Revel in my accomplishments and spread my love for God.

      As one of those people, I wonder how much you can really help?  When I get bad, I get quiet.  Both times I was hospitalized I did it myself because no one around me knew what I was thinking.  Not even my psychiatrist.  What do you do to help us?
